Two of Texas’ highly-rated school districts, the Comal Independent School District (CISD) and the New Braunfels Independent School District (NBISD), are available to residents, along with several private and charter school options.

Fun Facts

New Braunfels has the state’s largest group of aquifer-fed springs, and we host the biggest gourd festival in the state. We also use local bees to make beer, and we have a museum devoted to furniture.

Outdoor activities are central to this area, with both the Comal and Guadalupe rivers running through the heart of New Braunfels and Canyon Lake nearby. New Braunfels features 41 local parks, including the 62-acre Fischer Park that overlooks the city, along with the 51-acre Landa Park that is located within walking distance of our historic downtown.

Love a great water park? You’re in luck! The world-famous Schlitterbahn Waterpark makes its home in New Braunfels, along with Texas’ oldest dancehall, Gruene Hall. But that’s not all! You’ll love visiting Texas’ oldest bakery, Naeglin’s Bakery, Wurstfest (think a celebration of sausage!), the Natural Bridge Caverns & Wildlife Ranch, and the Texas Ski Ranch.
